First, the thing that causes the confusion

The RuneScape: Dragonwilds Discord Quest is a minigame that runs inside Discord. It is not a quest in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, it does not require the game to be running, and progress in it does not appear in the game's own quest log. The two are separate systems that happen to share a name.

The distinction is stated most plainly in the auto-generated "People also ask about" block that the r/DiscordQuests thread page itself carries, which describes it as a minigame inside Discord in which players craft items and receive Discord Orbs to spend in the Discord Shop. That block is the Reddit page's own aggregated summary rather than text from the thread, so it is quoted here as the page's framing and not as Jagex's words — no first-party announcement of this quest was found in the sources for this batch.

If what you are looking for is a quest inside the game, that is a different system entirely. The game has its own quests and side quests, including Regicide in the 1.0 Scorned Wilderness content and a set of secondary quests per region, and those appear on the maps and in the armour page's unlock notes. Nothing on this page applies to them.

What the quest actually is, as the players describe it

The thread is one player's question about a room they could not finish, and the answers fill in the whole shape of it. Read together, the quest is a crafting scavenger hunt inside a small building: a set of items to gather, a locked or blocked route that opens later, a rune puzzle with four coloured buttons, a vault code, and a final reward. The original poster's own description of the problem is worth quoting because it is the experience most people arrive with: they spent "not joking, 40 minutes looking around this tiny room" and could not find the wood, the stone or the vault stone.

The thread shows as nine days old at capture, with most replies at eight to nine days old and the newest at four days, which places the whole conversation in the first days after the 1.0 release.

The items, and where each one was reported

This list is compiled from one reply in the thread that set out locations for every item, plus three shorter replies that add or correct specific ones. It is a community list, not documentation, and the reporter's own locations are exhaustive rather than exhaustive-looking — several items appear in more than one place, which is why the list has repeats. Each item's possible locations are printed as reported.

The last stone — the part that stops people

If one entry above has to be singled out it is the stone, and specifically the one on the staircase. The reports in this thread converge on it from four different people:

  • "holy christ that last stone was insanely well hidden. took me like 10 minutes to find that one piece alone"
  • "omg the stone on the stairs is EVIL"
  • "Thanks, I had one stone I didn't see because of how it blends in."
  • "Oh my fucking god, one of the stones is hidden in the flower pot on the staircase. Edit: It may also sit in front of the flower pot and is visible from downstairs. Seems like it's dependent on if you're on PC or phone."

That last report gives the most useful piece of information on the page, because it says the same stone renders in more than one position depending on the device being used. A player who has searched the flowerpot once on one device has not necessarily searched the stone's only position.

Two mechanics worth knowing before the last item hunt

  • Floating blue stones have to be harvested, not clicked. "To get one of those floating blue lit stones, you have to use the pickaxe and wait for the animation to finish (don't press multiple times). It will end up falling on the ground." One of the rune-essence locations in the table above is exactly this kind of stone.
  • Part of the room opens later. One reply reports it directly: "Apparently you cannot move behind the stairs at first, it is only unlocked later at some point." Another states the same as a discovery: "I didn't realise I could go BEHIND the staircase (there's a door with a chest containing the vault code)". Both describe the same thing, and it explains a whole class of "the room is too small" reports.

The puzzle and the key

Two more answers from the same thread, both reported rather than documented:

  • The four purple buttons. Reported order, as one player found it: LEFT, RIGHT, UP, DOWN — with the caveat that the same player added "(unless that is random per person)". So the order is printed with its own doubt attached.
  • The key. Reported as held by the mannequin, restated by a second player as "Remember to take the key from the wood guy upstair from his hand". One further location detail from the same thread is that a small drawer can be opened in the chest-like object near the bookshelf upstairs.

The reward, and how it is claimed

The reward is reported as Discord Orbs that are spent in the Discord Shop, and that is the part of the quest which confirms it belongs to Discord rather than to the game — Orbs are a Discord currency and have no meaning inside RuneScape: Dragonwilds. The claim path is the same as the reward's home: the Orbs arrive through Discord once the quest is complete.

Worth stating plainly, because the thread shows it: the player who asked the original question never described what the reward looked like. Their closing message is "Thanks to everyone's help, I cleared it this morning!!!" and nothing more. The Orbs framing comes from the thread page's own summary block, not from a participant, and this page does not add a quantity, a value or an expiry to it, because no source in this batch states one.

Why some players get stuck at 11 of 12

Several replies report being unable to finish, and they split into two readings:

ReadingWhat it is based on
A last item that is genuinely well hiddenThe staircase stone reports above: four separate players independently describe missing one specific piece, and one identifies the flowerpot as the hiding place.
Possibly a defect"i made sure i opened everything, i think its a bug :/" and, from another player, "Same here. I'm kinda convinced it's a bug. I also had to restart because I glitched in the locked room and couldn't get out" — a report that includes having to restart the quest.

Both readings are printed and neither is adopted. This site does not call it a bug, because the only evidence in this batch is players' conclusions from their own playthroughs, and it does not call it solved either, because the players who reported the flowerpot did not all find their missing item there.

What this page is not

  • It is not a walkthrough with pictures. No image of the room exists in this batch, and no map of it is reproduced.
  • It is not dated by a release note. No first-party announcement of the quest, its start date or its end date was found in the sources for this batch, so this page states none.
  • It is not a claim about the game. Nothing here describes RuneScape: Dragonwilds itself; the quest runs in Discord.
  • Every statement above is a player report with the age of its post shown, and none of it carries a confirmed label.
